The Gorge rewards attention to position and chokepoints; the Marsh lets you choose the size of the map during setup.

Switch between concentrated conflict and a larger Woodland

The Gorge map’s wild geography creates natural chokepoints and draws warfare toward the central clearings. That layout puts map position at the heart of the struggle. On the reverse, the Marsh can be played with the standard twelve clearings or made larger to support games with five or more players.

These are the two maps introduced in The Homeland Expansion, presented here as a neoprene mat. A copy of Root, the board game, is required to play. This is an accessory, not a standalone game.

Related Products

Root: The Homeland Expansion - Three Factions & Two Maps Board Game Expansion

Root - Homeland Hireling Pack - Board Game

Root - Squires and Disciples Deck - Board Game

Specifications

Product: Root board game playmat

Material: neoprene

Design: double-sided, Marsh and Gorge maps

Marsh setup: standard 12 clearings or a larger map for 5+ players

Gorge layout: natural chokepoints and concentrated central conflict

Requires: Root base board game
