Carved pieces with contrasting finishes
The ox-bone playing pieces are carved and polished by hand, giving each its own character. Flame treatment gives the attackers a rich brown colour, while the defending pieces retain a pale, naturally lustrous finish. Both sides are ox-bone; the original listing’s “ivory” wording describes the defenders’ appearance, not a different material.
The solid teakwood board is handcrafted and inscribed with Norse runes and symbols. An MDF protective box provides storage between games.
