In my games I tend to use characters as foes more than I use monsters. I needed a resource that was a sort of "Bestiary of People", where I could just grab a stat block and use it for whatever supporting character I needed. Not specific villains, because I write those up from scratch. I'm talking about the city guardsman, the innkeeper, the beggar in the street, the shopkeeper, the courtly lady, the ordinary, everyday, non-adventuring people that make up the majority of the world.
Instant NPCs offers full statistics for each of the NPC classes: Adept, Aristocrat, Commoner, Expert, and Warrior. Each is presented at each level, from 1 to 20. That's 100 ready-to-use stat blocks to help make your preparation time as a gamemaster easier. If you need something a little different, something very specific for a specific supporting character, all of the crunch math in included to make it easy for you to swap out skills, feats, and spells and replace the ones listed with the ones you want. Ideas for alternate builds and uses for the class are presented, along with possibilities for using NPC classes as player character classes.
