Buried Deep – Gothic Family Secret Roleplaying Game

Buried Deep is a roleplaying game about uncovering a long-hidden family secret. A hack of Nick Bate's Stealing the Throne, it draws heavily from gothic literature — morally grey characters, old wealthy families, and secrets that have been buried for generations but long to be brought to light. Using a deck of cards, you'll work together to navigate the complicated process of discovery. And you won't be doing it alone: the secret itself wants to be found, and it's helping you along the way.

Buried Deep sits in the tradition of gothic fiction that made Poe, Shelley, and Le Fanu famous — the kind of story where the past refuses to stay buried and family history is never as clean as it seems. The card-based system keeps the focus on narrative and character rather than combat, making it ideal for groups who want a tense, atmospheric one-shot or short campaign.
