Psionics in Pathfinder: A Complete Guide to Dreamscarred Press Supplements

Autumn has a way of making you want to play something different. The days get shorter, the mood shifts, and suddenly a campaign built around mental powers, hidden knowledge, and the mysteries of the mind sounds a lot more appealing than another dungeon crawl. If that's where your table is heading this fall, Dreamscarred Press's psionics line for Pathfinder 1e is worth a serious look.
Psionics in Pathfinder 1e isn't part of the core rules — it's a complete alternate magic system introduced by Dreamscarred Press that runs parallel to standard spellcasting. It uses power points instead of spell slots, has its own classes and disciplines, and creates a fundamentally different play experience.
Psionics Embodied: The GM's Toolkit
Psionics Embodied is primarily a resource for GMs. It provides fully statted psionic NPCs for all ten psionic classes from Ultimate Psionics — allies, enemies, and everything in between. If you want to introduce psionics into your campaign through the NPCs your players encounter before they commit to playing psionic characters themselves, this is the right starting point.
Psionics Augmented: Mythic Psionics — The Deep End
Psionics Augmented: Mythic Psionics is where things get genuinely ambitious. At 70+ pages, it introduces the Overmind mythic path, Deep Focus mechanics, mythic psicrystals, over 300 mythic psionic powers, and nine mythic psionic monsters. This is content for campaigns that are already using both the mythic rules and psionics.
How to Layer Them
The natural progression is to introduce psionics through Psionics Embodied NPCs first, let players get curious, then open up psionic character options. Once the campaign reaches mythic tiers, Psionics Augmented extends the system further. If you're also looking to give martial characters more depth alongside your psionic players, Path of War: Expanded pairs naturally — Dreamscarred Press designed both systems to coexist.
