The Secret Fire RPG

Winner of the 2012 Innovative Game Design Award (I-CON 31), The Secret Fire uses a unique blend of game design and storytelling to create a simple, fast, and flexible original fantasy game system of roleplaying, exploration, and constant danger featuring three-dimensional characters. TSF's immersion mechanics (combining everything that's great about novels, films, television series, and roleplaying games) serves to breathe real life into the experience of descending into dungeons, exploring the uncharted wilderness, saving the innocent from certain doom, and unearthing ancient, long-hidden hoards of treasure, both monetary and magical, all while creating a gripping story of unique characters engaged in epic quests.

The The Secret Fire's motto is: Roleplay or die! (Literally.)

This 300-page rulebook, ranked #2 of the Top 5 Gifts for Tabletop Gamers by The National Examiner in 2011, contains everything you need to play a game of The Secret Fire, including full adventure, The Dungeons of Madness!, featuring a three-level labyrinth. Just grab dice, paper and pencils, and some friends!

The Secret Fire was created by George Strayton, tabletop RPG player since 1979 and Origins® and InQuest® Game of the Year-nominated game designer. His professional design and editing credits include Greyhawk: Borderwatch (AD&D 2nd Edition), Frostburn: Mastering the Perils of Ice and Snow (Dungeons & Dragons 3.5), Star Wars 2nd Edition Revised & Expanded (West End Games), The Men in Black Roleplaying Game, The Lord of the Rings: Fell Beasts & Wondrous Magic (Decipher), several d20/OGL books for Goodman Games and Fast Forward Entertainment, The Hercules & Xena Roleplaying Game, The D6 Legend System, and more. He worked as a full-time designer, editor, and creative director at West End Games.

In addition to game design, Strayton has been a screenwriter and producer for 15 years, with credits including Sam Raimi's Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Dragonlance: Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Transformers 1 & 2, and several upcoming films.

"A flavor-filled approach to fantasy gaming that puts the mystery and magic back into the dark recesses of the dungeon."

Monte Cook, Creator of Numenera and Co-Creator of Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition

"With The Secret Fire, George Strayton has captured the sense of wonder, possibility and (yes) MAGIC that I felt when I first played D&D back in 1979.'

Stan!, TSR staff member on 2nd Edition AD&D and Creative Director & Co-Founder of Super Genius Games

'I had the opportunity to sit down at my FLGS and playtest a convention scenario for the upcoming RPG The Secret Fire. There is literally something for everyone in the rules, no matter what edition you started with and some very innovative and interesting mechanics to the game."

Michael Curtis, Award-Winning Author of The Dungeon Alphabet and Stonehell Dungeon, poleandrope.blogspot.com

'I just purchased a physical copy and a PDF copy. People in the house have been trying unsuccessfully to pry me away from my iPad ever since I downloaded the PDF. As a gamer, a game master, and a writer I haven't been this excited for an RPG in many years.'

Jamie LaFountain, Game Designer, TSR, Inc.
