Advantageous Abilities: Humanoid Special Abilities

Advantageous Abilities: Humanoid Special Abilities includes over a dozen abilities for GMs to give their NPCs an advantageous edge (or just a little role-playing fun).

Befuddle your PCs with abilities like Barroom Brawler and No Loyalty, add a little fun with "abilities" like Peg Leg, or give them something to worry about with the Poisoner ability. No matter your choice, this PDF is sure to make flavourful and effective NPCs.

Examples:

  • Barroom Brawler: When fighting in a tavern or inn, this creature has advantage on attack rolls made to grapple or shove its foe. Its movement speed is unaffected by difficult terrain created by a tavern environment or its patrons.
  • No Loyalty: Once per turn, when this creature would be hit with a melee attack by a creature that it can see, it can swap places with a minion within 5 feet of it, forcing the minion to take the hit in its place.
