Located in a place where ordinary folk never go, the temple of the Starbird is an ancient site, considered holy by many avian races. Dedicated to Astronix--a legendary bird that is said to create the night sky--the temple sits within a barren mountaintop whose depths hold no veins of ore, gems, or any other substance that men prize.

This adventure sits at the crossroads of two endeavors - the PCs are crossing a mountain pass and some tengu are headed to the Temple of Astronix. It is clear that they expect to gain some measure of personal power from an upcoming event and that the rewards will be commensurate with the danger. But what will the PCs do about it?
